The weight unit sets the units you want to enter weight settings in. It will be automatically set the first time you sync Checkout with Enstore. You can change the weight unit settings, but make sure that you update all of your shipping settings accordingly as they won't be automatically converted to the new weight.
Some products might not have a weight set. In that case all shipping methods that need the weight to calculate are disabled. You can set a value to fallback to a default weight for products to still use those shipping methods.
Enstore can calculate shipping rates for orders based on several shipping carriers or custom defined rules. By clicking the '+' button at the bottom of the 'Shipping options' section, you can add settings for both domestic and international shipping. Make sure you set the store location in the "General" section, otherwise Enstore is unable to determine your shipping options because it doesn't know where it's shipping from. If you add a new shipping option make sure you set the status to enabled, otherwise they won't show up on the checkout page.
Enstore differentiates between domestic and international shipping. For international shipping services, you can set specific countries you want to use this shipping service for.
Carrier Based Shipping
Carrier based shipping uses backend communication to precisely determine the shipping rate provided by the carrier. Enstore currently supports UPS, USPS and FedEx.
Please note that because Enstore relies on the actual shipping carriers to determine the pricing, they can fail when the carrier service is unavailable or when the customer has provided invalid input like a wrong zip code and state combination.
Enstore lets you define custom shipping rules based on price (subtotal) or weight of an order. You can define tiered amounts with a price that you want to calculate. In the following example we charge $10 for every order below $500. Everything from $500 and up ships for free.
